The idea for the #HotboxShow (previously the Hotbox Podcast) was hatched during the Trial Of The Plant in the Pretoria High Court in August 2017. As we entered the court, our first prize was to live stream the trial onto the Fields Of Green For ALL website but the State and DFL fought desperately to stop us in our tracks. The compromise was to stream the proceedings through the national broadcaster which we did.

We had planned for the Hotbox Studio to be the daily debrief of the court days but it wasn’t to be for fear of us bending the truth, manipulating the feed and sowing all sorts of propaganja.

The first episode of the Hotbox Show went live just after the TOTP was adjourned with a scratchy camera and a dodgy mic on 2oth August 2017.
Since then the team has put together 40 consecutive editions with a different guest on the couch each week.

Over the months we’ve invested in hardware, software and routers and our skills base has certainly increased with a dedicated tech team of volunteers to bring you South Africa’s only weekly Cannabis culture current affairs show.

The #HotboxShow has become part of the furniture. By the time the week’s show is over, we’re already prepping guest and gizmos for the next one. Our #localislekker product showcase is gaining traction.

Every episode has a local cannabis goods and services slot and it’s a great feeling to be able to share the love and promote the SA ganja community in this way.
