On 22 July 2022 the application for leave to appeal was granted in the Labour Court case of Barloworld vs Bernadette Enever, as we updated you with links to the court documents earlier this year.
This means the case is ongoing as Bernadette and her legal team are preparing for the return to the court room. However legal procedures such as appeal don’t come cheap and as this case will set a precedent, we will need all the help we can get from as wide a variety of sources as possible. The outcome of this case will obviously affect the human rights of ALL South Africans. We will update you about the fundraiser soon.
We have to stand up against this unjust system. If they can change laws for murderers, surely it must be the same with cannabis. As we’re approaching the festive season and there’s a focus on alcohol induced accidents, nothing on cannabis. Clearly cannabis is not the cause of deaths let alone the accidents! Let’s stand up for our rights!
The Fundraising raffle has officially been launched and you are welcome to contact me directly or the Fields of Green team for further info, or if you would like to make a contribution … Burny (Bernadette) 0832779773
Good day, you Awesome FOGFA Team!
This case has caught my attention – it is BIG and the outcome potentially affects every SA citizen. I don’t think enough people understand the gravity of the situation. I work in corporate & the internal bylaws are ridiculous regarding cannabis – very infuriating but we adapt.
I wish Bernadette all the best with this trial and I sincerely hope she comes out with a resounding victory. I will definitely look into some ways to support the fundraising.
Keep blazing & stay amazing FOGFA Team,
Best Regards,
Keshan Govender
