We are pleased to be sending a delegation to this event with the view to spreading the South African story. This is part of the legendary Spannabis expo.
Gaining global recognition has been the aim of our non-profit company since its inception. First South Africans needed to come together and create the story that is Cannabis legalisation in our beautiful country.
We have now generated enough of a script to allow us to spread our wings.
Jules and Myrtle were in Amsterdam for the High Times Cannabis cup last year and made solid connections. There is real value in telling the South African story in person and sharing experiences, particularly with other NGOs. There is a camaraderie amongst those who are doing this, not for profit, but because something has to change on a fundamental, human rights level.
Abdelfatah Mouttaqui, who hails from Morocco is the newest member of our team. We look forward to his role as African Ambassador for the spread of Cannabis legalisation networking northwards.
Fields of Green for ALL is proud to be a member of a steering committee that will send representatives to the United Nations General Assembly Special Session on drugs (UNGASS) in 2016. This means that we can let the Civil Society Task Force that deals with populations that are victimised by prohibition know about what is going on in Southern Africa. This particular steering committee is known as the Global Forum of Producers of Prohibited Plants (GFPPP) and has representatives from Mexico, Columbia, Peru, USA, Jamaica, St Vincent and The Grenadines, Morocco, Myanmar, The Netherlands, Bolivia, and now South Africa. We are new to this type of forum so look forward to updating our supporters on progress.
So it’s off to Spain for a networking frenzy, we’ll be holding the SA Flag high and spreading the word about Africa and hope to come back with interesting tales so we can all move forward on this Cannabis journey.
