Shout out to ALL the brave activists out there who fight on for the important issues that still plague our community.

Employees are still being fired EVERY DAY in South Africa for testing positive for Cannabis in their urine. We all know that these tests DO NOT INDICATE IMPAIRMENT. We also all know that Cannabis stays in our systems for weeks, if not months – that is why it is so good for our health.

Shout out to the amazing Burny Enever – ex corporate worker turned entrepreneur due to unconstitutional Cannabis workplace rules and discrimination. Burny has been an inspiration within our Cannabis community for many years. Burny is always bringing the fiya to events with her DJing. She burns colourfully with her market stall popping up all over the place.

In February 2020 Burny called to let us know that she had been fired from her admin position at Barloworld after 9 years of working there, with a stupendous record to boot!

After losing in the first round at the Labour Court, tomorrow (1 November 2023) we join Burny at the Labour Court of Appeal in Johannesburg.

Thank you Burny for being so brave, for trusting the process and going through all of this on behalf of ALL workers who use Cannabis in South Africa.

Burny has worked tirelessly to raise the money for her case. We raise a chillum of thanks to those who have and continue to support her fundraising efforts.

We will continue to raise money to cover the remaining legal disbursements.

We are endlessly grateful to Pierre van der Merwe and Schindlers Attorneys for standing by us. Our thanks also to Advocate Malcolm Lennox for his counsel over the years this case has dragged on for.

Burny, we stand with you and ALL South Africans who have been affected by these unjust laws that deny our cognitive liberty!
