Hydroponic.co.za was originally a known as Windell Hydroponics back in 1994 when Tony Hinde introduced hydroponic growing to South Africa. After a trip to New Zealand where he discovered hydroponics, he found a great passion and drive to create an industry for it in SA.

He passed on his business to his daughter Megan Hinde, who introduced hydroponic.co.za into the business model and launched their highly successful online horticulture and hydroponics shop in conjunction to their Hortishop in Claremont, Cape Town and the hydroponic.co.za home shop in Kraaifontein, Cape Town.

In the 24 years since Tony brought hydroponics over to SA, Windell has become a leader in supplying all things hydroponics. Their team has a wealth of knowledge between them and continue to grow from strength-to-strength on a daily basis.
