Cannabis Can Help South Africa

In the aftermath of Jules’ death, Myrtle and Fields of Green for ALL have received thousands of messages. These messages come from all over the world and are from family members, fellow activists, friends from the film and TV-industry, random friends met along the way and affiliates and individuals from the Cannabis industry alike. The support has been humbling in so many ways and we have still not had the chance to respond to every message personally to thank everyone for their well wishes.

One comment and question stands out, front and center, from every message we have received:

“Let us know if we can help in any way.”

There are in fact several ways in which you can help our cause. As a non-profit company, we don’t make heaps of money with which we can ensure we keep the lights running next month, because not everyone can necessarily help financially, especially during the trying times we’re in right now. But there are so many other ways in which you can help, that we decided to make a list and let you know what your options are:

  • Donate to our GoFundMe campaign

Our GoFundMe campaign is our main focus right now as we have lots of things to do and limited resources with which to do it. Our friends at Dabstars are helping us with this campaign so that we can achieve the many goals we have set for the funds we can raise. You can read about our goals here and view our GoFundMe campaign here. Please also share the campaign on all your accounts – this also helps us to raise awareness!

  • Sign the petition

Our legalisation petition has been running for many years and we have a dream of getting to 42,000 signatures before we need to close it off and hand it in to the president. We’re nearly there, but we still need a few thousand to go. You can view the petition here and read about what we want to achieve and what we need from you. Again, a share would go a really long way!

  • Fill in the survey

The South African Survey of Cannabis Users and Growers aims to gather research about current habits in the Cannabis community so as to inform future policy reform. They also want to encourage our government to commercially legalize Cannabis, so that ALL of South Africa can benefit from the plant. The survey is strictly anonymous according to the POPI act’s standards, so you won’t need to be concerned about anything being used against you or your name being connected in any way to the information you are submitting. You can complete the survey here and be sure to share it online and with your fellow grower friends.

  • Watch the Hotbox Show

Every Thursday night, at a random location somewhere in Johannesburg, a bunch of folk come together in a room to talk about lank dank and all the other things surrounding our favourite plant. Besides showing off some really good weed, the crew also discusses news stories that involve the community, gives out growing information, discusses and rates some of the newest technology in the Cannabis industry and talks to some pretty impressive people who are contributing to the fight in some way. The Hotbox Show is live on Facebook every Thursday at 19:00, but it’s best to just subscribe to our Youtube channel – that way you can share it with everyone!

  • Buy something cool from our shop

Our shop offers some pretty decent t-shirts – with new shirts and designs incoming and to be showcased soon! We also have infopacks that contain some interesting Cannabis-related information that is relevant to what we do at Fields of Green for ALL (as well as our newest booklet on how to start your own Dagga Private Club) and of course – some pretty dope stickers!

  • Become a member of The Green Network

The Green Network is our own Cannabis community of individuals and companies who support legalisation. For a small donation of only R49 a month, you can help make a difference. In return, we offer you membership and access to fellow members to allow for internal networking among like-minded people with the same goals in mind. You can find out more about the Green Network here – and invite all your friends to join too!

  • Become a Fields of Green for ALL affiliate

If you have a company and you are not shy about your support of the legalisation of Cannabis in South Africa, you can become a Fields of Green for ALL affiliate. Our affiliates play a big part in keeping the wheels rolling and their support is incredible. In return for their support, we offer them some exposure to our following and special invites to the HotBox couch, among other things. You can see some of our affiliates here and read about becoming an affiliate here. Consider having your business join the cause and help make a real difference to us!

  • Read and share our blog and sign up to the newsletter

The Fields of Green for ALL crew works hard to make sure that you have relevant information to read and that we have the word out there about what is going on in our world. It’s important that this information goes as far as it possibly can and reach some eyes and ears and that really need to hear and are able to help us out in their own way. By signing up to the newsletter here you can make sure that you don’t miss out on any topics that we post to the blog, which you can read here.

  • Know your rights

By knowing your rights, you can protect yourself – this is half of our job! Our hearts weep for the many messages we receive of people who signed an admission of guilt because they didn’t know their rights and they were exploited. We have gone to great pains to make sure that we make the information simple and available to you, so be sure to know your rights by reading up on it here.

  • Tell EVERYONE

Since the Privacy Ruling of September 2018, South Africans have become more used to Cannabis. Not because there was all of a sudden more of it around, but because everyone who has been in hiding has decided to come out. We are not silent anymore and we don’t need to be either. The time has come for us to spread awareness about our plant and the possibilities it can offer us. Please share our work far and wide, for everyone to see. We spend countless hours making sure that we send the right information out to you. It would mean the world to us if it doesn’t just end with you.

From the entire team at Fields of Green for ALL – thank you. We could not have come this far without your help! Please keep supporting us so that we can keep the good work going!
