Ganja in Jamaica has a twofold interest for the Dagga Couple. Firstly it is an excellent history of the Island’s cannabis origins. Interesting because of it’s eerily parallel course to late 19th century British colonial expansion in Southern Africa and it’s ensuing slave trade. Secondly it contains the results of one of the most in depth social studies ever undertaken about cannabis and culture. One result indicated that people with a lifelong cannabis history lived, on average 2 years more than non users. If that’s the case, we want that right to two more years – it’s our human right to life. – by Jules
