Looking for some holiday reading? This final blog is number 36 for the year 2024. We’ve covered the year’s journey of slow but steady progress, adding to the stories of millions of South Africans and lovers of the plant from around the world as we all move towards a world where there are Fields of Green for ALL!

Our small but fiercely dedicated team has navigated a year of “perpetual imminence”1, amidst a “crisis of illegality”2. The bottom line is that we have made some progress, it all there in the other 35 blogs! However, the pace is still painfully slow and we still see the enduring stigma that clouds our right to cognitive liberty. Our right to use, cultivate and trade in this plant without the threat of being locked up in a cage or having to endure the widespread ignorance of the government at every turn.

“Humankind has the basic right to cognitive liberty. That is, in essence, the right to consume substances in order to change one’s mind in any way that one wants, without interference by the state or anyone else. For, so long as one is not harming others or doing so much harm to oneself as to place an unacceptable burden on state resources.”3

Here at Fields of Green for ALL we are eternally grateful to our supporters – members of The Green Network, Affiliate Companies, Dagga Private Clubs and our local and international allies. As we prepare to take a rest, here’s a HUGE thank you to everyone and wishing each and every one who has a relationship with the Cannabis plant, a holiday break filled with love, prosperity and hope.
