I completed a Masters in Philosophy degree two years ago, worked as an editor in Cape Town, and currently live in the Drakensberg waiting to head to Korea to teach English to make money to pay for my PhD in Politics.
I have been using marijuana regularly since I was 15 while attending a prestigious all boys boarding school. I wrote a number of my final school exams stoned and received 5 As. I also represented KZN for athletics, squash, and cross country (need I impress upon you that my lungs are fine?).
Music is my primary recreational activity (mostly blues, some jazz and acoustic rock stuff too though). Marijuana gives me an immediacy and presence of mind while I compose which brings great beauty and joy into my life. When making music with others I feel that marijuana allows us to connect and be “on the same wave length.” When the jam breaks down and we lose our groove we sit down to a spliff and discuss what we want to do, where we’re not connecting, and how we need to adapt. Then we do it. Simple.
Oh, and when the jam rocks, we sit down afterwards to a celebratory spliff and prepare ourselves for what’s next.
Anyway, I hope that this is some use for you. When I return from Korea I intend to run the Two Oceans and Comrades marathons for legalization… mooi green spandex styles.
Aweh.
