The Anti Drug Alliance has published a comprehensive report detailing the cost of the South African government’s ‘War on Drugs’.
As far as we know, this document is the first of it’s kind in South Africa and ADA-SA should be complimented on such excellent research. The more you read, the more staggering the figures become. Why are we wasting such crazy figures on criminalising and incarcerating drug users. They aren’t criminals – they are just normal human beings. Some have addiction troubles but the majority of drug users do it for fun, for relaxation and  introspection with no negative effects at all.
