Alaska Legalises Cannabis
Alaska becomes the third state to completely legalise cannabis for adults over 21 years of age. 28g for personal possession is allowed, but public use is prohibited. Residents are permitted to grow up to six plants in their homes. The successful vote marked the third attempt to legalize recreational marijuana in Alaska, following unsuccessful measures in 2000 and 2004. The state’s voters legalized medical marijuana in 1998.
